Midnite has awarded a £14,000 prize to Sheffield United season ticket holder Natalie Emmanuel through its 2UP fan campaign.

The initiative, introduced by Sheffield United’s front-of-shirt sponsor, gives home supporters the opportunity to win the accumulated prize pot when the club goes two goals ahead at any point during a home league fixture.

Sheffield United achieved the feat for the first time this season during its 3-0 victory over Lincoln City on 10 October, triggering the £14,000 payout.

Prize Pot Reached £14,000

The prize pot began at £10,000 in August after rolling over from Midnite’s Brace Yourself promotion from last season, which offered a prize when a Sheffield United player scored twice during a home league match.

Under the new 2UP format, Midnite adds £1,000 to the prize pot following each home league fixture until it is won.

Following Emmanuel’s £14,000 win, the prize will reset to £1,000 when Sheffield United hosts Derby County on 24 October.

Emmanuel said:

“I can’t believe it! I am so, so pleased.

“It’s very surreal. It’s great that we got a positive result as well! I was beginning to think the prize pot would roll on forever! It’s a huge bit of money and it will definitely help. It shows that you definitely have to register and enter competitions, because you never know what might happen.

“I am still in shock, but I am super grateful to Midnite.”

Midnite Continues Sheffield United Fan Initiatives

Andrew Mook, Head of Brand at Midnite, said:

“We are buzzing that this prize pot has finally been won by a Sheffield United fan. With no one winning our Brace Yourself competition last season, we wanted to increase the prize pot for Blades fans at the start of this campaign, and began the count at £10,000.

“Midnite is always wanting to give back to the fans and ‘2UP’ no doubt created a matchgoing experience that was built different, as week after week Blades fans visited Bramall Lane thinking that maybe this week was their lucky week.

“It was an incredible feeling to make the phone call and hear the overwhelming reaction from Natalie. No one else can say that they won £14,000 after simply attending a football match, and we’re delighted to have made someone's week or possibly year. We hope this goes a long way in showing fans that Midnite is a sponsor that is definitely built different.

“Blades fans can sign up via the QR codes at the ground, as well as via Midnite’s website, and we hope for many more 2UP winners at Bramall Lane this season.”

Stephen Bettis, Chief Executive Officer at Sheffield United, added:

“It's great to see that our supporters are also benefitting from our partnership with Midnite and I'm pleased that one of our loyal Unitedites has pocketed a significant prize, simply by being at Bramall Lane on a matchday.

“Promotions like 2UP show how much Midnite values our supporters, there were a number of exciting initiatives last season that Blades fans enjoyed, and we’re grateful for their continued support.”

Midnite’s 2UP campaign is open to supporters aged 18 and over, with full terms and conditions available online.
