Nominations Open For Casino Guru Awards 2027 With New Player Protection Category

Casino Guru has opened nominations for the fifth edition of the Casino Guru Awards, with submissions accepted until 15 February 2027.

The 2027 edition introduces the Player Protection Advocate of the Year award, which will recognise individuals working to improve player safety and reduce gambling-related harm.

The new category follows additions introduced for the 2026 awards, including Woman Leader of the Year, Rising Star in Responsible Gambling, Young Changemaker Award and Company Culture Shaper.

Player Protection Category Added

Casino Guru said the new award is intended to recognise professionals contributing to player protection through areas including policy, industry practices and collaboration between organisations.

Simon Vincze, Head of Sustainable & Safer Gambling at Casino Guru, said:

“Player protection has always been closely connected to the Casino Guru Awards. With this new category, we want to give more visibility to the people across the industry who influence policy, develop better practices and bring organisations together around player protection.”

The 2027 awards will feature 13 categories:

• iGaming Changemaker of the Year

• Woman Leader of the Year

• Rising Star in Responsible Gambling

• Young Changemaker Award

• Company Culture Shaper

• The Most Transparent Casino

• The Fairest T&Cs

• The Most Effective Handling of Complaints

• Players’ Choice

• Voice of the People

Companies and individuals can nominate themselves or another candidate by completing the official nomination form. Additional nomination letters and supporting evidence can also be submitted for consideration by the judging panel.

Winners To Be Announced In Malta

The judging panel will combine Casino Guru specialists with external industry professionals, with the assessment process including reviews of submitted materials and online interviews with shortlisted candidates.

Most categories will be decided by the judging panel, while the Players’ Choice and Voice of the People awards will be determined through public voting.

Shortlisted nominees will be announced on 1 March 2027, when public voting will also begin. The judging period will run from 30 April to 7 May, with public voting closing on the same day.

The Casino Guru Awards 2027 will conclude with an invite-only ceremony at Casino Maltese in Malta on 26 May, taking place during NEXT Summit Valletta 2027.
