Midnite, the Principal Partner of Middlesbrough for the 2026/27 season, will serve 1,000 Teesside Parmos to Boro fans at Riverside Stadium this weekend, following an entertaining Parmo cooking challenge that will go live following the fixture.
Shot earlier this month, the “Parmo Challenge” saw Middlesbrough legends David Wheater and Craig Hignett go head-to-head with first-team players Alfie Jones and Sol Brynn to see who could cook the best Teesside Parmo, the winner of which was decided by Boro boss, Kim Hellberg. The victors of the bake-off-style cooking challenge are set to be revealed across Midnite’s social channels soon.
Now, the campaign is moving from the kitchen to matchday, with 1,000 Parmos being served in the Fan Zone at Riverside Stadium from 10am ahead of the 12:30pm kick-off between Middlesbrough and Cardiff City on Saturday, October 17. Fans just need to show their match ticket to claim a free Parmo, while supplies last.
David Wheater and Craig Hignett will also be joining fans in the Fan Zone, helping the team from local food truck caterer Crazy & Co serve up the Parmos.
The Teesside Parmo is synonymous with Middlesbrough, matchdays and the wider community. By bringing the dish to the Riverside, Midnite is celebrating a local favourite while giving something back to the supporters who make matchdays special.
Since becoming the Principal Partner of Boro, Midnite has continued to put fan experience at the heart of its sponsorship.
At the start of this season, Midnite launched ‘This Season’s On Us’, giving supporters the chance to win season tickets, shirts, match tickets and £25 club shop vouchers.
Midnite is also running its season-long ‘2UP’ initiative, giving Boro fans the chance to win a growing cash prize at every home league game. If Middlesbrough go two goals ahead in a home league match, one lucky fan will win the 2UP prize pot, which starts at £1,000 and increases by a further £1,000 after every home league match.
So far this season, Middlesbrough fans have won a combined £3,000.
David Wheater, Middlesbrough Legend, said:
“While you’ll have to stay tuned to social media to find out who won the Parmo Challenge, my Parmo was made with a lot of heart, cheese, chicken and a whole lot of béchamel sauce.
“It was a really fun experience to take part in, and it’s even better knowing that the fans get to be part of it too, with an even tastier Parmo on matchday.”
Andrew Mook, Head of Brand Marketing at Midnite, added:
“There is no more recognisable meal for Middlesbrough locals than a Teesside Parmo, and we’re pleased to be able to celebrate it while giving something back to the fans who show up every week.
“Alongside ‘This Season’s On Us’ and ‘2UP’, the core of what we do at Midnite is making sure the fan experience is at the heart of everything.
“We’ve already had two 2UP winners at Middlesbrough, with £3,000 won so far, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.
“Thanks to David, Craig, Alfie, Sol, Kim and Crazy & Co for all their help in making this campaign possible.
“Midnite is Built Different when it comes to match sponsorship.”
