Former champion jump jockey Ruby Walsh has joined Racing Post as an exclusive columnist, with his weekly analysis forming part of the publication’s relaunched RP+ digital membership
Racing Post has signed former jump jockey and racing pundit Ruby Walsh as its new exclusive columnist.
Walsh will become the flagship columnist for RP+, Racing Post’s relaunched premium digital membership, providing weekly analysis and opinion on issues across the sport.
His column will be published online for Racing Post digital subscribers on Fridays before appearing in the Saturday print edition.
Walsh To Cover Racing’s Key Issues
Walsh is a 12-time champion jump jockey in Ireland and remains the most successful rider in Cheltenham Festival history.
His new column will cover subjects including riding standards, the state of jump racing and wider decisions affecting the future of the sport.
Walsh said:
“I'm looking forward to giving forthright opinion on all sorts of topics and ideas and notions, and hopefully we can try and make racing a little bit better than it is.”
His first column will be published ahead of the start of the jumps season at Chepstow.
While Walsh will continue his broadcast and other media commitments, Racing Post will be the exclusive outlet for his written opinion.
