New Jersey Gaming Revenue Falls 5.5% In August

New Jersey’s gaming revenue fell year-on-year in August, although the state’s total gaming revenue for the first eight months of 2026 remained ahead of the previous year.

New Jersey Gaming Revenue Falls 5.5% In August

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) reported total gaming revenue of $615.7m from casinos, racetracks and their partners in August, down 5.5% from the same month in 2025.

iGaming was the only segment to record year-on-year growth during the month, generating $259.3m in revenue. This represented a 4.4% increase from the $248.4m recorded in August 2025.

Year-to-date gaming win from iGaming reached $2.13bn, up 13.2% from $1.88bn during the corresponding period last year.

Casino Revenue Declines In August

New Jersey’s nine casino hotels generated $294.9m in gaming revenue during August, a 5.5% decline from the $311.9m recorded in August 2025.

Despite the monthly decrease, year-to-date casino win reached $2.01bn, representing a 1.8% increase on the previous year.

Sports wagering revenue also declined during the month, falling 25% year-on-year to $61.4m from $81.9m.

The DGE attributed part of the decline to “a later start to the fall sports calendar for certain sports.”

Sports wagering revenue for the first eight months of 2026 reached $671.4m, down 5.3% from the same period in 2025.

New Jersey Revenue Remains Ahead Year To Date

Across all gaming verticals, New Jersey recorded $4.8bn in total gaming revenue through August 2026.

The figure was 5.4% higher than the $4.57bn recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.

The state collected $81.5m in gross revenue taxes during August, taking the year-to-date total through August to $674.2m.
