GRID has launched GRID Odds, an esports betting service aimed at gambling operators, expanding the company’s activities further into the betting sector.

The service is currently available for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), Dota 2, Valorant and League of Legends. GRID said the product provides data-driven pricing across markets including match and map winners, player props and in-round betting.

“GRID has been built on a single conviction: esports betting success depends on official data access. GRID Odds is the logical, scalable extension of that position,”

said Thomas Warburton, co-founder and chief business officer of GRID.

Focus On In-Play Esports Markets

GRID holds official data rights with Riot Games, Ubisoft, KRAFTON, ESL FACEIT Group and BLAST, providing access to data used across in-play betting markets.

The company said live betting accounts for around 70% of all stakes in esports markets, with player and in-round markets forming an important part of its new offering.

“In-map player options and in-round micro markets are not a modelling choice but rather are a question of access,” Warburton added. “Leveraging that access for our customers is why GRID Odds stands out in the market, letting us serve far more operators who are serious about esports.”

GRID Expands Betting And Prediction Market Activities

Warburton is leading GRID’s expansion into esports betting after spending six years at Sky Betting and Gaming.

The company has also appointed Evgeniy Bekker as vice president of trading. Bekker previously served as director of trading at BETER and has built GRID’s trading desk.

“I am glad to have Evgeniy leading the trading side,” said Warburton. “He brings the experience to drive the business forward, with a team behind him that knows the success lies in the product.”

GRID is also expanding into prediction markets. The company partnered with Polymarket in June, after which it reported record esports volumes in July.

The platform recorded $790m in esports volume in July, representing a 33% increase from June.
