Forbes Italia and SiGMA will bring together representatives from government, business and the gaming industry in Rome this month for an event examining the future of Italy's regulated gambling sector.

The event will take place at the Sala del Carroccio at Rome's Campidoglio on 19 September and will also provide a preview of SiGMA World, which returns to the Italian capital from 2 to 5 November 2026.

The programme will include representatives from Roma Capitale, SiGMA World and Italian gaming association SAPAR, with Mariano Angelucci, Heathcliff Farrugia and Sergio D'Angelo among those scheduled to participate.

Vision 2030 To Examine Italian Gaming Market

The September programme will feature Forbes Italia & SiGMA Talks – Vision 2030, bringing together regulators, industry associations, businesses and other stakeholders to discuss the future development of regulated gaming in Italy.

Regulation, digital transformation, consumer protection and efforts to combat illegal gambling will be among the main subjects addressed. Discussions will also examine how regulation can respond to emerging technology and changing consumer behaviour while maintaining safeguards for players.

Another focus will be maintaining a clear distinction between licensed businesses and unauthorised operators as Italy's gaming market continues to develop.

The event will also feature the presentation of the Forbes Italia Top 50 – Regulated Gaming, created in collaboration with SiGMA to recognise individuals who have contributed to the development of Italy's legal gaming sector.

SiGMA World Returns To Rome In November

SiGMA World is expected to attract more than 30,000 delegates to Rome when it takes place from 2 to 5 November. Organisers estimate that the previous edition generated approximately €100 million in economic impact for the local economy.

Artificial intelligence, fintech, payments and other emerging technologies will feature prominently across the November programme. Five stages will cover areas including AI, innovation, fintech, technology, iGaming and payment systems, bringing together companies, investors and industry professionals.

Sessions will explore the use of artificial intelligence in areas including data analysis, automation, risk management, regulation and customer engagement. Fintech and digital payments discussions will similarly examine both the commercial opportunities created by new technology and the associated regulatory challenges.

Rome Forms Part Of SiGMA Global Programme

The Rome summit forms part of SiGMA's international 2026 calendar, which has included events across markets including Dubai, Cape Town, São Paulo, Manila, Malta and Colombo.

Founded in 2014, SiGMA Group operates across events, media and business networking, connecting gaming and technology companies with regulators, investors and other industry stakeholders. Its international programme now comprises eight summits and more than 100 networking events annually.

The Forbes Italia event at the Campidoglio will serve as a precursor to the November summit, with both programmes placing regulated gaming, technological development and the future of Italy's digital economy at the centre of discussions.
