Omaze Raises £4.5 Million For Women's Health Research Through Cornwall House Draw
The prize draw operator has raised £4.5 million for Wellbeing of Women, exceeding its guaranteed £1 million donation to support research into women's health.
Omaze has raised £4.5 million for UK charity Wellbeing of Women through its Cornwall Million Pound House Draw, providing funding for research into health conditions affecting women throughout their lives.
The fundraising total significantly exceeds the £1 million donation guaranteed to the charity when the partnership was announced. The campaign offered entrants the opportunity to win a property in Cornwall valued at more than £4 million, alongside £250,000 in cash.
The money will support the Omaze Women's Health Research Programme, an initiative designed to address gaps in medical research and improve understanding of conditions affecting women and girls.
Cornwall Prize Draw Raises £4.5 Million
Omaze confirmed the fundraising milestone in a social media announcement, thanking participants in its Cornwall House Draw for supporting the campaign.
The company said:
“Thanks to the Omaze UK Community, £4,500,000 has been raised for Wellbeing of Women, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
The draw formed part of Omaze's established fundraising model, which combines the opportunity to win high-value properties and cash prizes with donations to charitable organisations.
For the Cornwall campaign, Omaze partnered with Wellbeing of Women, a UK charity dedicated to funding research and improving health outcomes for women and girls.
The partnership initially guaranteed a £1 million donation, with the final fundraising total reaching £4.5 million following participation in the draw.
Funding To Support Women's Health Research
The proceeds will contribute to the Omaze Women's Health Research Programme, which aims to address areas of women's health that have historically received insufficient research funding.
The initiative will support research into conditions and health issues affecting women at different stages of life, including menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, endometriosis and menopause.
Wellbeing of Women has highlighted the need for additional investment in these areas, noting that gaps in medical knowledge can leave patients experiencing persistent symptoms without effective diagnoses or treatments.
Through the programme, the charity intends to support the next generation of researchers and accelerate progress towards improved healthcare and treatment options.
The £4.5 million raised through the Cornwall House Draw will provide additional resources for these objectives, although the charity has not yet disclosed a detailed breakdown of how the funding will be allocated.
Jennifer Saunders Backs Charity Partnership
The campaign also received support from comedian and actress Jennifer Saunders, who endorsed the partnership between Omaze and Wellbeing of Women.
