Mozzartbet Leaves UK as Group Refocuses on Regulated Markets

The operator is ending its Malta-licensed online operations as it continues to focus on markets where it holds domestic regulatory approval.

Mozzartbet Group is set to withdraw from the UK online gambling market, with its Malta-licensed operations scheduled to close from October 1, 2026.

The move will see Mozzartbet Malta Limited end its activities under its Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence. The Mozzart.com brand and its associated affiliate programme will also cease operating as part of the withdrawal.

The decision forms part of a broader strategy by the group to concentrate on jurisdictions where it has established a direct regulatory presence through locally issued licences.

Mozzart.com has operated under an MGA licence since March 2019, providing the group with access to Malta’s regulated online gaming framework for more than seven years.

The latest move does not represent a wider retreat from international markets, with Mozzartbet continuing to operate across several other jurisdictions.

The Belgrade-headquartered group was established in 2001 by Dejan Čakajac and has subsequently expanded its presence beyond Serbia.

Its international footprint includes Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and North Macedonia, where its operations are expected to continue.

MGA continues action against unlicensed operators

Mozzartbet’s decision comes as the Malta Gaming Authority maintains its focus on protecting the integrity of the country’s licensing system.

In August, the regulator issued warnings concerning 11 websites that it said were making unauthorised references to the MGA and suggesting that they were licensed by the authority.
