DraftKings Seeks Approval for Alberta Sports Betting and Casino Launch
The company has confirmed plans to make both DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino available from the province’s planned universal launch date of 13 July.

DraftKings is pursuing regulatory approval to introduce its online sports betting and casino offerings in Alberta, Canada.
The company has confirmed plans to make both DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino available from the province’s planned universal launch date of 13 July.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to expand DraftKings’ footprint in Canada and bring our online sportsbook and casino experiences to customers in Alberta,” said DraftKings executive vice president and general manager of sports Greg Karamitis.
“With the anticipated launch aligning with the World Cup – hosted right here in North America – it’s a particularly exciting moment for sports fans in the province to engage with our platform.”
If approved, Alberta would become the second Canadian province to offer DraftKings’ mobile sportsbook and casino products, alongside Ontario. It would also mark the 34th North American jurisdiction where the company operates online sports betting, and the seventh offering online casino services.
Residents of Alberta who are eligible will be able to pre-register for DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino ahead of the expected launch.
Earlier this year, the company expanded its footprint in the United States with the launch of its online sportsbook in Arkansas.
