Retail and mobile sports betting operators in Maryland reported a combined handle of $604.7m in March, marking a strong month for the market.

The total represents a 17.3% increase from February’s handle of $515.7m. Of the March figure, $595.2m was generated through mobile betting, while retail sportsbooks contributed a further $9.5m.

Taxable win from sports betting in Maryland also saw notable growth, rising 20.3% from $36.7m in February to $44.2m in March. This total was largely driven by mobile betting, which accounted for $43.5m, with retail betting contributing $687,568.

In turn, sports wagering tax revenue for the state reached $8.8m in March, up 20.3% compared to $7.3m recorded in February, highlighting continued momentum across both mobile and retail channels.
