Betano Becomes Main Supporter of Romanian National Wheelchair Basketball Championship
The agreement marks an expansion of the operator’s involvement in adaptive sports, with a focus on infrastructure, athlete development, and access to specialised resources.

Betano has formalised a long-term partnership with the Romanian Paralympic Committee, taking on the role of main supporter for the National Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Sibiu.
The agreement marks an expansion of the operator’s involvement in adaptive sports, with a focus on infrastructure, athlete development, and access to specialised resources.
As part of the partnership, Betano will fund tournaments aimed at enhancing competitive opportunities for adaptive athletes, support development workshops, and provide high-performance, specialised equipment. The initiative also includes the donation of 20 new wheelchairs to patients assisted by the OncoHelp Association, linking the programme to broader healthcare and social inclusion efforts.
The operator highlighted that the partnership is designed for long-term impact rather than one-off activations, aligning sporting investment with measurable social outcomes. By collaborating with the Romanian Paralympic Committee, Betano positions itself alongside national sports institutions at a time when operators are increasingly structuring social responsibility initiatives with lasting impact.
This move in Romania follows similar efforts by Betano in other markets, where social responsibility programmes have been tied to sport, education, and harm-reduction initiatives. The partnership is expected to extend beyond individual tournaments, with further activities planned under the framework agreed with the committee, supporting the long-term development of Paralympic sport in Romania.
“This is what real impact looks like, turning passion into progress and challenges into victories,” the operator said on social media
“Together, we make the impossible possible. For real. Pe bune.” The Romanian phrase “pe bune,” meaning “for real,” reflects the operator’s commitment to engaging authentically with the national audience.
