Maryland Welcomes bet365 as 15th Licensed Sportsbook Operator
Only a few weeks ago, the operator launched in Kansas – its fourteenth US jurisdiction – while back in March it completed a dual debut in Tennessee and Illinois.

Maryland is preparing to add another major name to its regulated sports betting market, after the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) approved a licence for bet365. The green light followed a day of strong hints from the operator itself, signalling its intention to go live in the Old Line State.
The move continues bet365’s determined push across the United States. Only a few weeks ago, the operator launched in Kansas – its fourteenth US jurisdiction – while back in March it completed a dual debut in Tennessee and Illinois. Maryland will now become state number fifteen on the British bookmaker’s growing map.
With the state’s sportsbooks handling $364.1m in wagers in July alone, Maryland represents a sizeable opportunity. Had the market crept just $900,000 higher, it would have passed the $365m mark – a number that feels a fitting nod to the brand’s imminent arrival. The question now is how much disruption bet365 can bring to a landscape already dominated by FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM.
