Gamban Expands Support with Finnish and Norwegian Language Services

Problem gambling support tool Gamban has rolled out new services in Finnish and Norwegian, significantly broadening its accessibility across the Nordic region. The update means players in both countries can now use the platform in their native language, removing a key barrier to seeking help.

Marking the launch, Gamban CEO Jack Symons stated:

“Language should never be a barrier to accessing help.

“By introducing Finnish to Gamban, we’re ensuring that more people in Finland can access the tools they need. We hope this update makes the process of blocking gambling on devices more intuitive and effective.”

With the addition of Finnish and Norwegian, Gamban now operates in a total of seven languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazilian), Finnish and Norwegian.

The decision to launch in these languages is part of a wider strategic move, as both Finland and Norway transition towards licensed gambling frameworks. Finland’s state-owned monopoly, Veikkaus, is confirmed to end by 2027, while Norway’s gambling future under state operator Norsk Tipping remains under review. Notably, both Veikkaus and Norsk Tipping are active partners of Gamban.

Commenting on the development, Susanna Saikkonen, Vice President of Sustainability at Veikkaus, said:

“Veikkaus has built a comprehensive and unique safer gambling environment for our customers, and Gamban is an additional service to those who want to make a self-exclusion to all Veikkaus games.

“It’s also offered to customers with signs of risky behaviour when they are contacted through care calls. Gamban has been a really helpful service, and we are happy that it’s now available in Finnish.”

Per Einar Karlsen, Senior Responsible Gambling Advisor at Norsk Tipping, added:

“Having offered Gamban free of charge to all our customers for many years, we’re now delighted to be able to offer this important resource in Norwegian.”

This latest expansion aligns with Gamban’s continued mission to provide accessible, multilingual support to individuals seeking to take control of their gambling behaviour.
