Kentucky Reports Record Revenue and Handle for November 2023

The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation has announced a remarkable increase in revenue, reporting US$35.9m for November 2023, a significant rise from $21.8m during the same month last year.

This growth was driven by a record-breaking total handle of $301.7m, marking the first time the figure has surpassed $300m in the Bluegrass State since regulated wagering began in September 2022. Handle increased by 7.3 percent year-on-year from $281.2m, setting a new benchmark for the state.

Total sports betting tax revenues also saw substantial growth, climbing 63.4 percent to $5m, up from $3.1m in November 2023.

Of the $35.9m in total revenue, $35.2m originated from online wagering, while retail betting contributed an additional $638,742. Similarly, online wagering accounted for $290.7m of the handle, with the remaining $11m coming from retail premises.
