Coljuegos Authorises Betano to Launch Online Betting Operations in Colombia
The brand, owned by Kaizen Gaming Colombia, becomes the latest addition to the 16 online operators already authorised to operate in Colombia.

Colombian gaming authority Coljuegos has officially granted Betano permission to begin online betting operations within the nation. The brand, owned by Kaizen Gaming Colombia, becomes the latest addition to the 16 online operators already authorised to operate in Colombia.
On the authorisation, Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié stated:
"We continue to strengthen the industry of games operated by the internet. We hope that, with the entry of this new operator, we can continue to increase transfers for the health of Colombians. At this time, the platform is already operating for the betting public.
"We are seeing that online betting is a sector of the economy that has driven the growth of the country's gross domestic product. For this reason, we are working to make the market even more attractive and to provide more options to bettors."
Coljuegos anticipates that by the end of the year, online betting platforms will contribute P 419.5m ($95.5m) in operational fees, reflecting a 31% year-on-year increase. Over the next five years, Betano is expected to pay P 21.5m to Coljuegos for its operational rights, along with administrative expenses.
These funds are directed to Colombia’s health system, providing subsidies for healthcare and supporting scientific research.
The nation’s 16 authorised operators include Betsson, Luckia, BetPlay, Bwin, Rivalo, Zamba, and Stake. Additionally, land-based operators like Novomatic have made significant contributions, such as introducing Fazi Mega Pay roulette machines to Gran Casino Buenavista and Zamba Plaza del Parque earlier this year.
