Flutter UKI Launches 2024 Cash4Clubs to Support Grassroots Sports

Industry giant Flutter's UK and Ireland division has unveiled its 2024 Cash4Clubs programme, allocating £400,000 ($521,924) in funding to grassroots sports clubs and charities throughout the UK and Ireland. The initiative aims to promote physical activity in local communities by providing grants of £2,000 each to 200 clubs, enabling them to enhance facilities, purchase essential equipment, and run coaching sessions.

Last year, the programme supported over 9,000 individuals across a variety of sports, including dance, swimming, archery, and wheelchair rugby. Some of the standout beneficiaries were Gosport Bowmen Archery Club, London Wheelchair Rugby Club, and Basa, a fitness group in Rochdale for women over 60.

Dame Caroline Dinenage, Chair of the cross-party CMS Select Committee, urged clubs to apply for the grants, stating, "These grants help clubs do vital work in communities, bringing people together and encouraging active lifestyles."

Since its launch in 2008, the Cash4Clubs initiative has invested nearly £6 million in community sports. Ian Brown, CEO of Flutter UKI, emphasized the importance of the programme, noting, "The benefits of sport are priceless, and this funding can make a real difference, especially in areas that need it most."

Applications for the 2024 programme will be open until mid-November, and in collaboration with the charity Sported, the focus will be on increasing participation in underserved and deprived areas.
