DraftKings Expands Sportsbook to Washington DC
Through a market access agreement with the football team D.C. United, DraftKings will be able to offer its services in the District of Columbia.
DraftKings is preparing to join Caesars Entertainment and BetMGM in expanding its sportsbook to Washington DC, pending licensure and regulatory approvals.
Through a market access agreement with the football team D.C. United, DraftKings will be able to offer its services in the District of Columbia. The city is home to several professional sports teams, including basketball, baseball, and ice hockey. Soon, DraftKings players will be able to place bets on markets such as same-game parlays and in-play options.
“With the DC Council’s recent decision to expand the world of sports betting in DC, we look forward to working with DraftKings to introduce their online sportsbook as another way for DC residents to bet in the city,” said Danita Johnson, president of business operations for D.C. United.
Matt Kalish, DraftKings’ president of North America, added:
“Together with D.C. United, we look forward to delivering fans a best-in-class experience through our customer-friendly product.”
Washington DC will become the 29th jurisdiction in North America where DraftKings’ sportsbook is live.
