Group's three online bookmakers processed 37 million bets!

Dublin-based 37 million unique bets were placed over the course of the four-day jumping jamboree, according to Flutter's calculation of the three online betting sites.

The group’s bookies took, “well over £250 million sterling (€284 million) in stakes” through the duration of the event.

Flutter claims it ended the week in the black despite wins for ten favourites, including the Willie Mullins-trained Galopin des Champs in Friday's Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup, the highlight of the meeting.

The three bookmakers did not, however, get everything their way. On Thursday, bets placed on Envoi Allen, Sire du Berlais, and Stage Star each cost them an approximate amount, “eight-figure sum”.

A Paddy Power customer in Co. Kildare won €75,000 from a 20 cent lucky 63, a multiple wager that cost €12.60 and included bets on various horses in various combinations.

The organisation provided a great client proposition over a memorable festival, according to Dom Crosthwaite, chief trading officer of Flutter.

“This was all made possible by our talented colleagues in Flutter UK and Ireland, who worked incredibly well to seamlessly manage over 37 million online bets across the week,”Crosthwaite said.
