DAZN Bet to Purchase Eleven Group

The global sports media business, ELEVEN GROUP, will be purchased by the sports entertainment platform DAZN.

Once Elevens Group and Team Whistle are joined with DAZN, they hope to expand globally and grow into new markets and business models. Increasingits football rights and launching a new social media streaming service are just some of the goals!

Kevin Mayer, DAZN chairman, said:

"Team Whistle is a growing business that has a proven track record in monetising short form content. It will be hugely valuable to DAZN as we look to generate the maximum value from our enviable rights portfolio, creating new formats of content to reach new audiences and generate powerful incremental revenue streams.”

When the deal is complete, the partnership will provide better opportunities as DAZN will become the broadcaster of the major football leagues in Belgium and Portugal. ELEVEN Group's businesses will strengthen DAZN’s already dominant market positions in Italy, DACH and Spain, where DAZN holds top-tier domestic football rights. Eleven has a presence in Taiwan and other Southeast Asian countries, giving DAZN more leverage in the region where it already holds a dominant market position in Japan.

The purchase is still undergoing an anti-trust review, so the completion date is currently unknown.
