Today marks another significant date for the US gambling industry, with March 18th 2021 being the day that sports betting launched in the state of North Carolina.

This has been made possible after a betting bill was approved by the Senate back in April of last year (2019).

The first operator to launch in the state is William Hill who have joined forces with The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to create ‘The Book’. Together they have launched North Carolina’s first legal sports betting venue at both of its Harrah’s Cherokee Casino sites in Cherokee and Murphy.

“We are excited to offer legal sports betting at The Book, and just in time for March Madness.” Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Principal Chief Richard Sneed said.

“We would like to thank our partners at William Hill and Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos, as well as members of the state, for making this opening possible.”
